Chris Osondu is the Founder/CEO of Southern Foods & Beverages Ltd/FZE. A privately held company that has established a world class water bottling plant in Calabar Free Trade Zone (CFTZ), to serve south-east and south-south regions of Nigeria. The Company is a franchisee of the German soft drink brand SINALCO for the West African Market.
Earlier in his career Chris served as Business Development Manager (Kentucky Fried Chicken Division) for the Euromill Group, Berlin, Germany a Dutch-Thai diversified group focusing on technology, real estate, food and trade. Endowed with in-depth knowledge of the Nigerian and European business environment, Chris has over 25 years successful track record of starting, transforming, leading and managing start-ups in Nigeria and abroad.
He was General Manager of Cell Communications Ltd – CDMA network operator that merged with two other telecommunication service providers to form present day VISAFONE. Chris was also the Managing Director, PSPLS Management Consortium Ltd, a BPE initiative designed to bolster citizen’s participation in the privatization process. He also led a team on management contract to restructure CTL/Trend TV Group and served as interim Chief Operating Officer during the engagement.
Chris set up the Programme Management Office (PMO) of CANi (Computer for All Nigeria initiative), a Federal Government and private sector: Microsoft, Intel, OEMs- initiative designed to increase public and private sector productivity and workforce access to PCs and internet.
He was co-founder of Tonxx GbR Berlin, a provider of intelligent email processing software, Responsio, which was acquired by a renowned German research institute. He was also a founding member and Vice President of Marketing at SemanticEdge GmbH, Berlin, a software company focusing on voice technology for business applications.
He also served as pioneer Head of Marketing at QS Communications AG, Cologne; a German facility-based data communications provider of broadband local data transport services. At Teles AG, Berlin, a telecommunication equipment vendor, he served as Market Analyst, a member of the company’s initial public offering project team and supported the management board on strategic marketing initiatives.
He is on the board of several companies such as AMB Multiserve Ltd, Digital Bridge Ltd, Kimberly Ryan Ltd, Oasis Management Company Ltd, & most recently appointed to the board of Trendcorp Africa Ltd.
Chris holds a B.Sc. in Geography from the University of Nigeria and dual MBA degrees from the University of Hull, England and the Arthur D. Little School of Management, Cambridge, MA, USA, where he headed the 1997 Telecom Group. He also received a PGDip. in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK and speaks fluent German.
